Arnoud Burkels serves as a Senior Adviseur Strategie en Beleid at Thuiscorporatie Elkien since December 2019, leading various projects related to housing, care, and well-being strategies. Additionally, Burkels has held the role of Gebiedsontwikkelaar at the same organization, contributing to urban development initiatives in multiple municipalities. As of January 2022, Burkels is also the Vicevoorzitter of the Raad van Commissarissen for De Bouwvereniging and a member of the Raad van Toezicht of BMS Onderwijs. Elkien is een corporatie met hart voor mensen, waar wonen meer is dan een huis alleen. Wonen is onlosmakelijk verbonden met leven. Elkien kijkt verder dan het verhuren en bouwen van woningen. De wijk of dorp waarin een woning staat is zeker ook belangrijk om prettig te kunnen wonen. Voorzieningen spelen daarbij een rol maar ook de onderlinge contacten. Elkien wil mensen met elkaar en met organisaties verbinden. Vanuit onze betrokkenheid met mensen leveren wij een bijdrage aan een beter woon- en leefklimaat in Fryslân.
