Martin Windfeld Velin serves as the Chief Executive Officer and Chief Operating Officer at Ellegaard Göttingen Minipigs since September 2021, while also mentoring at the Danish organization Lær for Livet since August 2024. Additionally, Martin holds a position as a Board Member at DI - Dansk Industri in West Zealand from April 2023. Prior to this, Martin has held significant roles in Maersk Drilling and Maersk Supply Service, including Director of HR Operations and Managing Director for Mexico. Martin's earlier experience includes strategic planning for Defence Command Denmark and freelance consulting focused on team development through IntHRface. Education includes an MBA from the University of Southern Denmark and advanced military studies from the Royal Danish Defence College and the Army Officers Academy.

The stable genetic background is ensured through careful genetic selection and breeding. Göttingen Minipigs are bred in independent, full-barrier, SPF facilities to ensure high microbiological quality, and their well-defined health status is ensured through isolated barrier-breeding and documented in the publically available Health Monitoring Reports. The colonies are health monitored every six months and tested for a wide range of pathogens based on FELASA recommendations. Göttingen Minipigs are recognized as an established animal model by all regulatory authorities worldwide.
