Rasmus Jorgensen, PhD, currently serves as a Board Member at Ellegaard Göttingen Minipigs since August 2019 and is the CEO and Founder of Cytoki Pharma since January 2019. Previously, Rasmus held multiple Vice Presidential roles at Novo Nordisk from February 2008 to January 2019, overseeing various areas including GLP-1 & T2D Research, Diabetes and Cardiovascular Disease, and Diabetes Research in China. Rasmus's earlier experience includes positions at 7TM Pharma A/S as a Scientist and at 7TM Pharma as a project manager, along with a graduate student role at the University of Copenhagen, focusing on G-protein coupled receptor signaling. Educational qualifications include an Advanced Management Program from MIT Sloan School of Management, a PhD in Molecular Pharmacology from the University of Copenhagen, and a Master of Science in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology from Aarhus University.

The stable genetic background is ensured through careful genetic selection and breeding. Göttingen Minipigs are bred in independent, full-barrier, SPF facilities to ensure high microbiological quality, and their well-defined health status is ensured through isolated barrier-breeding and documented in the publically available Health Monitoring Reports. The colonies are health monitored every six months and tested for a wide range of pathogens based on FELASA recommendations. Göttingen Minipigs are recognized as an established animal model by all regulatory authorities worldwide.
