Bethany B.

Bethany B. has a diverse work experience spanning multiple industries. Bethany is currently working as a Campus Engagement Manager at Ellevation Education since January 2022. Prior to that, Bethany worked at Uplift Education from July 2019 to January 2022, holding various roles including Implementation Director-Math Intervention Program & Math Interventionist, Grade Chair, Department Chair, and 6th Grade Science Teacher. During their time at Uplift Education, they were responsible for overseeing curriculum implementation, chairing department meetings, organizing science fairs, and teaching 6th grade science.

Before joining Uplift Education, Bethany worked as a Middle School Science Teacher at Blackstone Valley Prep Mayoral Academy from August 2017 to June 2019. Bethany also served as a Corps Member at Teach For America from May 2016 to May 2018, and as an Elementary School Teacher at Achievement First from August 2016 to June 2017.

Bethany's early career experiences include roles at Cornell University and Geisinger Health System. At Cornell University, they held roles such as Office of Alumni Affairs Student Representative, Undergraduate Research Assistant in B.A.B.Y. Lab, and Cornell Annual Fund Student Caller and Coach from May 2013 to May 2016. At Geisinger Health System, they worked as a Bioinformatics Intern at Sigfried and Janet Weis Center for Research from May 2015 to August 2015. Additionally, they briefly worked as an Operations Coordinator at Teach For America from June 2014 to August 2014.

Bethany B. completed their Bachelor of Arts degree in Biology with a concentration in Neurobiology and Behavior, as well as Psychology, at Cornell University from 2012 to 2016. Bethany then pursued an Elementary Certification in Elementary Education and Teaching at Rhode Island College from 2016 to 2017. Bethany obtained additional certifications including the Core Subjects Early Childhood-6th Grade from the Texas Education Agency in January 2020, and the Elementary Education 1-6 certification from the State of Rhode Island in July 2017.
