Christopher Snyder has a diverse work experience that spans various roles and industries. Christopher is currently working at Ellevation Education as a Senior Software Engineer (Tech Lead) since October 2022 and prior to that, they were a Senior Software Engineer from December 2021 to October 2022.
Before joining Ellevation Education, Christopher worked at Wayfair from March 2020 to December 2021, where they held the positions of Engineer II and Software Engineer. At Wayfair, they focused on developing for the supply chain engineering group, automated repetitive work for customer service agents, and created clean interfaces and data pipelines as part of a services architecture. Their technical skills include Python, PHP, ReactJS, MSSQL, Kafka, Redis, memsql, Kubernetes, and Docker.
In 2018, Christopher worked as a Tech Lead (Volunteer) at Vote Remote, a volunteer project for the nonprofit Institute for Social Engagement. Christopher led the technical development of the first version of the product and worked closely with the product design team.
Christopher also has experience working independently, as they engaged in self-directed ReactJS training from April 2018 to November 2018. During this time, they taught himself JS ES6, ReactJS, Redux, MongoDB/Firebase, NodeJS, and unit testing with Jest/Enzyme, applying their knowledge to nonprofit and personal projects.
Prior to their roles at Wayfair and Vote Remote, Christopher worked as an Operations Manager at Accion Systems Inc. from August 2015 to March 2018.
Their earlier experiences include working as a Program Coordinator and Communications Assistant at the Martin Trust Center for MIT Entrepreneurship from 2011 to 2015, a Research Intern at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) Washington Office in 2010, and a Programming Intern (Environmental Health & Safety) at Sikorsky Global Helicopters in 2010.
Christopher Snyder attended Tufts University from 2007 to 2011, where they earned a B.A. in Political Science. In 2010, they participated in the Washington Semester Program: American Politics at American University.
