Oliver Barton

Oliver Barton is an experienced educational leader currently serving as the Assistant Superintendent for Curriculum and Instruction at Ellington Public Schools since August 2021. With a substantial tenure at Hartford Public Schools starting in July 2013, Oliver has held the positions of Executive Director of School Leadership and briefly as Executive Director of Secondary Education. Prior roles include Principal at Old Saybrook High School from July 2009 to June 2013 and Director at Common Ground from September 1994 to June 2009. Earlier in the career, Oliver was a Math and Science Teacher at High School in the Community from September 1985 to June 1992. Oliver holds a Bachelor of Arts in Economics and Pre-Med, as well as a Master's degree in Environmental Studies, both from Yale University.
