John Reeves, PE, PMP has over 20 years of work experience in the engineering field. John began their career in 1992 as an Afloat Junior Officer with the U.S. Coast Guard. In 1996, they became a Graduate Student at the University of Michigan in Naval Architecture & Marine Engineering and Mechanical Engineering. From 1998 to 2006, they held various roles with the U.S. Coast Guard, including Engineer Officer (Chief Engineer), USCGC HEALY, Port Engineer at Naval Engineering Support Unit Seattle, and Engineer Officer (Chief Engineer), USCGC ACUSHNET. From 2006 to 2009, they were an Associate Professor at the U.S. Coast Guard Academy. From 2009 to 2015, they held various roles with the U.S. Coast Guard, including Commanding Officer (Captain), USCGC HEALY, Commanding Officer (COO), Naval Engineering Support Unit Seattle, and Executive Officer (Chief Mate), USCGC HEALY. Since 2015, they have been the Director of Business Development and Project Manager/Senior Engineer at Elliott Bay Design Group.

John then attended the University of Michigan, where they earned both an MS and an MSE in Naval Architecture & Marine Engineering and Mechanical Engineering, respectively, in 1998. John also holds various certifications, including a Master, Unlimited Tonnage, Oceans from the U.S. Coast Guard (2021), a Project Management Professional from the Project Management Institute (2014), a Professional Engineer, Naval Architect & Marine Engineer from the State of Alaska (2016), a Professional Engineer, Naval Architecture & Marine Engineering from the State of Washington (2009), a Professional Engineer from the State of North Carolina (2016), and a Professional Engineer, Mechanical Engineering from the State of Michigan (2000).
