Chris Fuentes has extensive work experience in the field of DevOps and cloud engineering. Chris started their career at DeVry University as a Helpdesk Technician, where they provided IT support for students and faculty. Chris then worked as an Intern at Navy Federal Credit Union, gaining experience in optimizing ATM circuit throughput.
Chris later joined Rackspace Hosting as a Datacenter Build Tech, where they built and configured servers and storage arrays for the company's buildout. Chris then worked at Salesforce.com as a Site Reliability Analyst, ensuring the integrity and availability of their software production infrastructure.
Chris then moved on to Learning Objects, where they served as a Sys/Net admin, upgrading corporate systems and overseeing the implementation of the new office network. Chris then joined Amazon as a Datacenter Operator II, working with the staff to troubleshoot issues in multiple datacenters.
Chris's next role was at FireEye, Inc. as a NOC Analyst, where they deployed and troubleshot proprietary appliances. Chris then joined REAN Cloud as a Cloud Engineer II, providing consulting services and implementing Terraform through Jenkins.
Chris'smost recent role is at Ellucian, where they have served as a Principal DevOps Engineer and Principal Software Engineer. In this position, Chris has been responsible for researching, engineering, and training teams on modern DevOps practices. Chris has also assisted in the transition to cloud and provided expertise in tools such as Jenkins, Ansible, Packer, and Terraform.
Throughout their career, Chris has consistently demonstrated their technical skills and ability to adapt to new technologies and methodologies.
Chris Fuentes attended DeVry University from 2007 to 2010, majoring in network and communications management. Prior to that, from 2004 to 2007, they attended Thomas A. Edison HS, where they obtained an advanced diploma in general networking and graphic design. Chris Fuentes also holds a certification as a Certified Solutions Architect - Associate from Amazon Web Services, which they obtained in December 2017.
