Todd McCollough

Todd McCollough has worked in the technology and biomedical engineering fields since 2006. In that time, they have held a variety of roles. From 2006-2009, they worked as an Information Technology Support Consultant at Northwestern University. During this time, they provided technical support to faculty, staff, and students, and diagnosed operating system problems, performed virus and malware remediation, and troubleshot network connectivity issues for laptop and desktop computers. In 2009, they also worked as a Biomedical Engineer - Consultant at Ellumen, Inc. In 2009-2010, they were a Teaching Assistant (TA) - Biomedical Engineering at Northwestern University, where they supported a professor in an introduction to medical imaging course and provided tutoring to students, graded assignments and exams, and maintained records. From 2010-2018, they were a Senior Research Biomedical Engineer at Ellumen, Inc., where they conducted research and product development (R&D) to produce healthcare diagnostic images using electromagnetics (microwave imaging) while minimizing the risk of harm to patients. Todd also performed data collection, data analysis, and image reconstruction using custom written software programs, prepared grants, patents, publications, technical reports, conducted patent searches, and gave presentations. Finally, from 2018-2019, they worked as a Patent Examiner – Biomedical Engineering at USPTO, where they performed scientific and legal evaluations of patent applications directed to diagnostic imaging systems and methods by applying U.S. statutes of eligible subject matter, novelty, obviousness, and usefulness.

Todd McCollough obtained their Bachelor of Science in Biomedical/Medical Engineering and Economics from Northwestern University in 2009. Todd then went on to obtain their Master of Science in Biomedical/Medical Engineering from Northwestern University in 2010. Prior to that, they attended Barrington High School from 2001 to 2005. Additionally, they have obtained certifications in SQL from Harper College in May 2022, Web Designer User Experience from Harper College in November 2021, and an Undergraduate Leadership Certificate from Northwestern University in 2009.
