John McDaniel

John McDaniel is an accomplished executive with extensive experience in the health care and real estate sectors. Currently serving as Chairman of Hickory Ridge Group since January 2008, McDaniel provides advisory, development, and investment services to health care companies in the mid-Atlantic region. McDaniel also holds the position of Chairman at Washington Real Estate Investment Trust since May 2010, overseeing the oldest publicly-traded REIT in the United States. Previous roles include Chief Executive Officer of MedStar Health from 1982 to 2007, where responsibility was held for an organization generating over $4 billion in annual revenues and employing 25,000 individuals, as well as President and Chief Executive Officer of the Lutheran Home & Hospital Association of Maryland from 1972 to 1981, managing a 250-bed hospital. McDaniel holds a Master’s degree in Health Administration from the University of Michigan and a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from Wittenberg University.
