Nibras Shahin

Nibras Shahin has worked in various engineering roles since 2011. In 2011, they were a Technical Writer Intern at HMR Systems, where they designed and co-authored a step-by-step user manual for a Human Resource Management System and tested company software products for bugs and errors. In 2013, they worked as an Engineering Assistant at Alwahjan Co. Ltd., where they created multiple lighting perspectives of high-rise projects and placed electrical components on project drawings using AutoCAD. From 2017 to 2019, they worked at The Ottawa Hospital as a Research Engineering Technician and Student, where they were involved in rapid prototyping, design reviews, database organization, and the MARROW Study. Most recently, they have been working as a Mechanical Engineering Analyst at Else Labs Inc. since 2019, where their duties include researching and developing ingredient dispensing mechanisms, designing components with dimensional tolerance, conducting design and thermal tests, preparing bills of materials, troubleshooting technical issues, supervising the technical maintenance of prototypes, and contacting various suppliers and manufacturers.

Nibras Shahin has a Bachelor of Applied Science (Magna Cum Laude) in Mechanical and Biomedical Engineering from the University of Ottawa, earned between 2014 and 2019. Prior to that, they received Cambridge IGCSE and GCE A-Level Certificates in Science and Mathematics from Bangladesh International School English Section, Jeddah, between 2009 and 2014.
