Alan Grier

Alan Grier is a Mechanical Engineering Analyst at Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory since September 2019, with prior experience as a Graduate Teaching Assistant at Oregon State University, focusing on machine design and supporting undergraduate mechanical engineering education. Previous roles include Machine Shop and Makers' Space Assistant at The Athenian School, where mentorship in engineering and project execution was provided to middle and high school students, and an Engineering Intern at Alta Motors, contributing to computational fluid dynamics modeling. Alan held various leadership positions within the University of Rochester Baja SAE team, including Chief Engineer and SolidWorks Lead, and has a strong educational background with a Master of Science in Mechanical Engineering from Oregon State University and a Bachelor’s Degree from the University of Rochester, complemented by additional studies at the University of Canterbury.
