Judy Verses joined Elsevier in May 2022 as President, Academic and Government Markets.

Judy’s career reflects her belief in the power of knowledge to enable and transform individuals and communities. She has a strong track record of building trust and of being a strong advocate for inclusion and diversity.

Prior to Elsevier, Judy was Executive Vice President, Research, at Wiley, leading the company’s academic journal publishing and platforms businesses. Before Wiley, she was President, Global Enterprise & Education at Rosetta Stone, a market leader in online language learning and literacy. Previously, she had been President and Chief Client Officer at Blackboard, a leading supplier of educational enterprise software. The earlier part of Judy’s career was in telecommunications with Verizon, where she held multiple senior leadership roles in sales, product, and marketing. She has a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration from the University of Connecticut.

As the leader of A&G market segment, Judy is responsible for Elsevier’s global strategy for product development, sales, marketing, academic relations, and research intelligence solutions serving the needs of academic researchers, librarians, research leaders, policymakers, and funders. She will be based in Amsterdam.
