Timothy P. Murphy

Timothy P. Murphy, Alternate Responsible Person (Alt-RP), a graduate of Colby College, was first employed by ELI in 1991. He currently serves as the Laboratory Manager, Certifying Scientist, and Alternate RP. Prior to joining ELI, he worked at the Veterans Administration Hospitals in Bedford, Massachusetts, and New Orleans, Louisiana.

Since his employment at ELI, Mr. Murphy has participated in a variety of research projects, including development of a cannabis fingerprint and development of analytical methods for detection of drugs of abuse in meconium and other biological specimens, and has co-authored several scientific papers.

As Laboratory Manager/Certifying Scientist, Mr. Murphy is responsible for all the forensic and reference work in the analytical laboratory.

As alternate responsible person, Mr. Murphy would assume the responsibilities of the responsible person (RP) in case of long absences of the RP as mandated under the federal guidelines for a drug-free workplace.
