Jason W. Reed helped craft the idea of eLumin. Jason is a business and technology consultant for startups, commercial entities, and non-profit organizations.
Previously, Jason was CTO at UMUC, an accredited provider of online degrees and certificates serving over 87,000 students in 27 countries. Under his leadership, UMUC was recognized as an academic innovator by EdTech, EDUCAUSE, and IMS and a technology leader by Amazon, Salesforce.com, and Google. Prior to UMUC, Jason established an Enterprise Architecture & Strategy practice based on emerging SaaS, Cloud Computing, and SOA trends at biologics pioneer MedImmune. Before MedImmune, Mr. Reed was a Managing Director at Acumen Solutions, Inc. where he led technology consulting at AOL, Sun, Pfizer, SunTrust, Bridgewater Associates, Fannie Mae, and Citibank. Mr. Reed also provided software development expertise for the Joint Special Operations Command (JSOC) to enable forward deployed teams in the Global War on Terror. Jason began his career as a member of Citicorp’s elite, CEO-sponsored, Management Associate program where he architected a solution reducing credit card write-offs by $38M annually and received the Citibank Excellence Award for "outstanding performance, dedication, and personal achievement."
Mr. Reed is an honors graduate of The George Washington University School of Business in Washington, D.C. Jason serves on the Board of Advisors for Careerstone Group, LLC, was a founding board member of The School for Ethics & Global Leadership, and chaired the governance committee for the Board of Trustees at For Love of Children. He and his family live in Arlington, VA and are philanthropically active in a variety of family-focused organizations throughout the Washington, D.C. region.
