Karan S Rao, MBA, CRISC has a diverse range of work experience in the field of enterprise risk management. Karan S is currently working as the Director of Enterprise Risk for Embark Student Corp. Prior to this, they founded their own consulting firm, KSR Consulting, where they helped small and medium-sized enterprises develop risk management policies and frameworks. Before starting their consulting career, Karan worked as the Director of Enterprise Risk Management at ATB Financial and as a Senior Enterprise Risk & Operational Risk Manager at Manulife. Karan S also has experience working at Scotiabank in various roles, including Manager of Global Operational Risk and Manager of Retail Risk Technology. Additionally, Karan has experience as a Project Manager and Senior Business Systems Analyst at Scotiabank, and as an Implementation Specialist and Technical Analyst at Stericycle.

Karan S Rao completed their education with a Master of Business Administration (M.B.A.) degree in Business Administration and Management, with a focus on Corporate Strategy & Marketing, from the Ivey Business School at Western University in 2017. Prior to that, they obtained a BSc degree in Mathematics & Computer Science from the University of Toronto from 2006 to 2011. Karan also holds a High School Diploma from the International School of Choueifat, Sharjah, which they obtained from 2000 to 2006. Additionally, they have obtained various certifications throughout their career, including being a Certified in Risk and Information Systems Control™ (CRISC) by ISACA and obtaining an Operational Risk Manager Certificate from the PRMIA - Professional Risk Managers' International Association in 2019. Karan S also holds certifications in Goal Setting: Objectives and Key Results (OKRs) and is a U of T Alumni Volunteer.
