Brendan Ritter has worked in the software engineering field since 2012. Brendan began their career as a Summer Intern at MITRE in 2012, where they used Java, Matlab and R to develop scripts to analyze voluminous flight data. In 2013, they worked as a Software Summer Intern at Barrett Technology, Inc., where they developed an API for the control of a robotic hand using CAN (Controller Area Network) communication and constructed a costumer facing user interface using python's tkinter library. Brendan then worked as a Software Development Intern at Microsoft in 2014, where they improved calling infrastructure and developed an experimental Skype client. Brendan also learned the basics of the Azure cloud service. In 2015, they worked as a Software Development Intern at athenahealth. In 2016, they began working as a Scientist at Raytheon BBN, where they built custom software tools for the department of defense and conducted original research, synthesizing and formalizing doctrine into formal rule systems. Brendan currently works as a Senior Software Engineer at Embark Veterinary, which they began in 2021.

Brendan Ritter attended Washington Lee High School before completing a BS in Computer Engineering from Franklin W. Olin College of Engineering in 2015. Brendan then went on to receive a Master of Engineering - MEng in Computer Science from Cornell Tech in 2016.
