Paulina Kaas

Paulina Kaas is a highly skilled researcher currently serving as a Doctoral Candidate at EMBL since September 2023, focusing on super-resolution fluorescence microscopy and related methods. Prior to this role, Paulina worked at Heidelberg University as a Doctoral Candidate starting in June 2024 and completed a Master's Thesis at the Department of Chemistry, University of Copenhagen, investigating GPCR signaling and membrane curvature. Previous experience includes research assistant positions at Universitätsklinikum Freiburg, where characterizations of DPP9 proteases and development of an in vitro platform for screening voltage-sensitive probes took place. Paulina's early work includes participation in the iGEM competition, studying d-peptides for therapeutic applications, and a student research assistantship at the Max-Planck Institute of Immunobiology and Epigenetics, examining epigenetics of phenotypic variation. Academic qualifications include a Master’s degree in Molecular Medicine from the University of Freiburg and a Bachelor's degree in the same field.
