Rachel Palmer

Rachel Palmer is an experienced Programme Manager in the Operations Management Team at EMBL since July 2015, specializing in portfolio, programme, and project management, as well as stakeholder engagement and change management. Prior roles at EMBL include Senior Project Officer in the COO and Administrative offices, where project management and process improvement were central responsibilities. Prior to joining EMBL, Rachel served as a Teacher of Mathematics at the International School of Bremen and held several administrative and planning positions at the University of Birmingham, contributing to strategic decision-making and admissions processes. Rachel began a teaching career as a mathematics educator at Great Barr School and Droitwich Spa High School, demonstrating a strong foundation in educational leadership. Rachel holds a BSc (Hons) in Mathematical Sciences and a Postgraduate Certificate of Education in Secondary Mathematics, both from the University of Birmingham.
