Wolfgang Huber is a highly accomplished scientist in the field of computational biology and genomics, currently serving as Group Leader, Principal Investigator, and Senior Scientist at EMBL since September 2009. Prior to this role, Wolfgang held the position of Research Group Leader at EMBL-EBI from September 2004 to August 2009. Wolfgang's early career included a postdoctoral position at the German Cancer Research Center (dkfz) from March 2000 to September 2004, specializing in microarray and high-throughput screening bioinformatics, and at IBM Research from June 1998 to December 1999 focusing on cheminformatics and molecular similarity. Wolfgang earned a PhD in Theoretical Physics from The University of Freiburg in 1998 and a Diplom Physik in Theoretical and Mathematical Physics from the same institution in 1994, with additional studies at The University of Edinburgh and Scheffel-Gymnasium Bad Säckingen.
