Pedro Machado is a Soil Scientist with extensive experience at Embrapa since October 2005, focusing on Low Carbon Tropical Agriculture and partnership development in sustainable agricultural research. Previously, Pedro served as the Director General of Embrapa Rice and Beans, and as an Adjunct Director on Technology Transfer. Educational qualifications include a PhD in Soil Science and Plant Nutrition from the University of Natural Resources and Applied Life Sciences in Vienna and postdoctoral work on carbon dynamics at Rothamsted Research. Pedro also holds a Bachelor of Science in Agronomy from Universidade Estadual de Londrina.
