James Gregory

Dean, College of Engineering at Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University

James Gregory is the dean of the College of Engineering at Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University. James previously served as the chair of the Department of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering at The Ohio State University from January 2008 to August 2021. Prior to that, they were a visiting research scientist at the US Air Force Academy from December 2005 to December 2007, where they conducted experimental aerodynamics research. From September 2005 to December 2005, they were a Christine Mirzayan Science & Technology Policy Fellow at The National Academies. In 2004, they were a summer intern at Tohoku University. James also interned at NASA Glenn Research Center in 2002. Prior to their academic career, Gregory worked as an engineering co-op at Delta Air Lines from March 1995 to June 1998.

James Gregory received their Ph.D. in Aeronautics and Astronautics from Purdue University. James also holds a B.S. in Aerospace Engineering from the Georgia Institute of Technology.

James Gregory reports to Lon Moeller, SVP for Academic Affairs & Provost. They are on a team with Alan Stolzer - Dean, College of Aviation, Alexander Siedschlag - Dean, College of Arts & Sciences (Worldwide), and Chris Grant - Associate Provost of Academic Support. and Eduardo Divo - Senior Associate Dean, College of Engineering reports to James Gregory.
