Laura Bean-Allen is an experienced college and career counselor at Emerald Youth Foundation, running an academic center for urban high school students in Knoxville, Tennessee since June 2017. As a co-founder of Sustaining a Village Everyday, Laura has played a pivotal role in raising over $110,000 for the village of Boukeron, Haiti, since its inception in 2011. Laura has also served as a research assistant at Samford University, supporting a doctoral candidate and editing research papers. In addition, Laura has experience in residence life as a senior resident assistant and resident assistant, focusing on community building and conflict resolution. Previous roles include academic counseling with AmeriCorps and business endeavors as co-founder of Royal Princess Parties. Laura’s educational background includes a Bachelor of Business Administration with a focus on Economics and Social Entrepreneurship from Samford University.

Emerald Youth Foundation is a Christian, urban youth ministry that serves more than 1,400 urban children, teens and young adults each year. Our ministry is implemented through a network of more than 15 churches and faith-based organizations in five youth and community zones. We desire to raise up a large number of urban youth to love Jesus Christ and become effective leaders who help renew their communities.
