Barbarita Lara

Barbarita Lara Martínez is the CEO and Co-Founder of EMERCOM, a position held since January 2016, where focus is on innovative communication solutions, particularly the S!E emergency information system. This system provides secure and reliable information to individuals affected by catastrophic emergencies through smartphones, utilizing an advanced algorithm that works without the need for internet or cellular networks. Prior experience includes being a member of the Innovation Circle at ICARE Chile from March 2019 to March 2023 and various roles at Universidad Técnica Federico Santa María from 2012 to 2019, including Advisor in Innovation, Entrepreneurship, and Technology Transfer, as well as positions in systems development and administration. Barbarita holds a degree in Computer Engineering from Universidad Técnica Federico Santa María and has previously studied Civil Electronic Engineering at the same institution.
