Karan Bains is an accomplished professional currently serving as an Artificial Intelligence Researcher at UCSF Health, where research focuses on enhancing emergency department documentation through large language models. Karan also manages operations for e*Drive at the Acute Care Innovation Center and leads AI initiatives targeting emergency department charting and translation. As the Chief Resident for Emergency Medicine, Karan works clinically in UCSF and ZSFG Emergency Departments. In leadership roles, Karan serves as Vice Chair of the Administration & Operations Committee for the Emergency Medicine Residents' Association and has a history of consulting for healthcare clients at Charm Economics, LLC.
