VP Strategy at Emergent

Georgina Duffin has a diverse work experience spanning various roles and industries. Georgina currently serves as the VP Strategy at Emergent, leading the strategy team of the LEAF Coalition, which aims to stop tropical deforestation. Prior to this, they worked at the Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office as a Private Sector Advisor, where they delivered a COVID-19 response facility for vulnerable supply chains in the global south.

Georgina also has experience working at Gatsby Africa as a Senior Manager, Insights and Partnerships, at LITTLE BUD as a Co-Founder, at Dalberg Global Development Advisors as a Manager & Fellow, at Adam Smith International as a Manager, Private Sector Development, at Accenture as a Management Consultant, and at the Commonwealth Secretariat in Programme Management. Additionally, they have worked at the Houses of Parliament and the Foreign and Commonwealth Office.

Throughout their career, Georgina has demonstrated expertise in areas such as strategy development, private sector development, market systems, capacity-building, and sustainable development. Georgina has successfully implemented various projects, collaborated with global brands and NGOs, and facilitated investments in different countries.

Georgina Duffin has a diverse education history. Georgina began their postgraduate studies at SOAS University of London in 2009 and completed their degree in International Studies and Diplomacy in 2010.

In 2017 to 2018, Georgina participated in the JP Morgan Female Founders Accelerator program, specifically the "Project Hatch: The Social Enterprise Incubator." This program aimed to support and empower promising female entrepreneurs.

In 2019, Georgina attended the Institute of Directors (IoD) to enhance their skills in sitting on a non-profit board.

Georgina also undertook professional development courses in various fields. In 2015, they pursued a course in "Growing Prosperity" at +Acumen, and in 2013, they enrolled in a program called "Making Markets Work for the Poor (M4P)" at The Springfield Center.

Additionally, Georgina obtained their undergraduate degree in English Literature from the University of Bristol, where they studied from 2004 to 2007.

Most recently, in 2022, Georgina completed a course in "Business Strategies for Social Impact" at Wharton Online.
