Chelsey Roebuck

Chelsey Roebuck has a long history of experience in engineering, technology, and education. In 2009, they co-founded Emerging Leaders in Technology and Engineering, Inc. and served as Executive Director. In 2010, they began working at Columbia University as a Mechanical Engineering Capstone Design and at Abyssinian Development Corporation as a College Counselor & ELT Coordinator. Chelsey also worked as a Senator for the National Society of Black Engineers, where they represented a 80-student membership in zone, regional, and national events, and launched the first International Pre-College Initiative Chapter (Nsawam PCI). In 2008, Chelsey worked at Management Leadership for Tomorrow as a Fellow: Career Preparation Program, Columbia University Campus Liaison. In 2007, they were an Undergraduate Fellow: Instructor, Intern at Hayden Engineering and Applied Science Program at Columbia University, where they created a pilot project, led a group of 30 HS students in installing solar panels and a wind turbine, and researched and designed innovative challenges for middle school students. Additionally, they worked as an Intern, Chemistry Laboratory at Conectiv Delmarva Power, where they collected, recorded, and analyzed water samples from different stages in the power generation process. Lastly, they were a Research Assistant, General Robotics, Automation, Sensing and Perception Lab at the University of Pennsylvania, School of Engineering and Applied Science, where they assisted a professor in calculating voltage cut off values and created a website from interviews with professors and PhD students. In 2013, they co-founded Vectorly and served as Co-Founder, Advisor and formally Teach[x] and dotLearn. Vectorly's AI compression technology reduces video file-size and bandwidth-usage by up to 90%. Additionally, they worked at Columbia University School of Social Work as an Achievement Institute Program Coordinator.

Chelsey Roebuck attended Chestnut Hill Academy from 1992 to 2006. Chelsey then attended Howard University from 2006 to 2007 to study Mechanical Engineering. Finally, they earned a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from Columbia Engineering in 2010.
