Michael MacWade

Trustee at Emerson College

Michael MacWade is currently a Trustee at Emerson College. Prior to this, they served as the Chair at Emerson College from May 2013 to August 2021. Michael has also held positions at Putnam Investments and Fidelity Investments.

MacWade began their career at Fidelity Investments in September 2005 as Sr VP Client Service & Operations. In this role, they were responsible for leading a team of more than 250 employees who provided end-to-end client service for over 3,000 Registered Investment Advisor firms and institutional clients. Michael successfully oversaw the growth of advisor assets from $100B to $450B over four years and increased client satisfaction scores from the mid 60’s to high 80’s.

In January 2010, MacWade transitioned to Putnam Investments where they served as Director, Relationship Management until September 2015. Michael then returned to Fidelity Investments in a new role as Senior Vice President, General Motors Program Executive in January 2002. In this role, they were responsible for overseeing Fidelity’s Human Resources Services Company’s General Motors Program.

MacWade has proven himself to be a successful leader in the financial industry with a track record of increasing assets and client satisfaction scores. Their experience with managing large teams and complex projects makes him well-suited for their current role as Trustee at Emerson College.

Michael MacWade has a MA in Business & Organizational Communication from Emerson College and a BA in Communication from Northeastern University.
