Hemant Vankawala

Hemant Vankawala is a seasoned medical professional currently serving as an Executive Physician at Hamilton Health Box and an Attending Physician at the DALLAS VETERANS AFFAIR MEDICAL CENTER. With a longstanding commitment to healthcare innovation, Hemant has held the position of Executive Director at the Healthcare Innovators Professional Society (HIPS) since June 2017 and has been a Member of the Board of Directors for KERA – North Texas Public Broadcasting since October 2019. Additional roles include Founder & Ambassador at Emerus, Medical Director at both Terlingua Fire & EMS and Big Bend National Park, and a Board Member at The Nanubhai Education Foundation. Hemant also served as a Member of the Board of Directors for TCEP from May 2014 to June 2021 and was an Assistant Clinical Professor at UT Southwestern Medical Center from November 2014 to December 2016. Hemant's educational background includes degrees in Emergency Medicine Residency from Texas Tech, Doctor of Medicine from The University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio, Master of Science in Biology from the University of North Texas, and Bachelor of Arts in Biology from Trinity University.
