José Hernández

José Hernández is a Site Reliability Engineer with experience in AWS, Azure Cloud, RedHat Enterprise Linux, and Huawei NGIN. José has worked for Emi Labs since 2022, Globant since 2021, ExxonMobil since 2019, Huawei Technologies since 2016, and Corporación Digitel since 2014. At Emi Labs, José has supported a containerize microservices infrastructure in AWS, automated infrastructure provisioning in AWS with Terraform, and created and optimized CI/CD pipelines to deploy and test applications. At Globant, José worked in Azure Cloud adoption, followed practices for reliability, scalability, capacity, and monitoring under continuous delivery practices, used Jenkins and Azure Pipelines to automate tests and optimize CI/CD pipelines, and worked alongside developers to plan and find the best approach for deploying applications under automation and CI/CD. At ExxonMobil, José worked in engineering teams to design, build, deploy, and maintain systems, Virtual and Physical servers under RedHat Enterprise Linux, engineered infrastructure automation that eliminated time-consuming manual processes, and identified and developed solutions to grab metrics with Python and Bash and create dashboards and alerts in Datadog. At Huawei Technologies, José assisted clients with diagnosis of software and hardware issues and concerns for Huawei NGIN, monitored and proactively maintained Linux systems, applications, HA cluster, and networks, and coached newly-hired IT specialists on advanced technical procedures. At Corporación Digitel, José supported the prepaid billing system, created reports automation with SQL and Bash, created test environments for new changes to the platform, deployed new platform upgrades in a RHEL platform, used Java/J2EE technologies to develop USSD functionalities and extend existing applications, and worked alongside developers for integration of web services, web application development, SQL reports, and REST/JSON API's. Additionally, José held a Training Engineer role at Corporación Digitel.

José Hernández studied at The Language College from 2012 to 2014, where they obtained an Intermediate English degree in the field of English. From 2009 to 2014, they studied at UNEFA and obtained an Engineer degree in the field of Telecomunication Engineer. José has also obtained several certifications, such as the Puppet Enterprise Professional 2019 Certification from Puppet in 2021, the Getting Started With Puppet certification from Puppet in 2020, the LPI Linux Essentials Certification Preparation Course from Linux Academy in 2020, the Linux Foundation Certified SysAdmin (LFCS) Preparation Course from Linux Academy in 2020, the Red Hat Certified Specialist in Ansible Automation (EX407) Preparation Course from Linux Academy in 2020, the Microsoft Certified: Azure Fundamentals certification from Microsoft in 2020, the CKA: Certified Kubernetes Administrator certification from The Linux Foundation in 2021, and the Certified SAFe® 5 Practitioner certification from Scaled Agile, Inc. in 2020.
