Manjula Dissanayake has a diverse work experience spanning different industries and roles. They started their career at Symbol Technologies, where they worked in Engineering Services from 1998 to 2004. They then joined Zone24x7 and held positions such as Engineering Manager, General Manager, and VP of Global Operations from 2004 to 2012. In 2012, Manjula became a Director at Limark Technologies.

Manjula Dissanayake has a diverse education history. Starting in 1997, they pursued a Bachelor of Science (BSc) degree in Information Systems at The Manchester Metropolitan University, which they completed in 2001. Following this, in 2004 they enrolled in the University of Colombo, where they obtained a Master of Science degree in Advanced Computing, which they completed in 2006. In 2007, Manjula attended Stanford University to pursue Executive Management education, focusing on Corporate Strategy. More recently, they joined the University of Adelaide in 2012 to acquire a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in the field of Accelerators, Learning & Teaching, Innovation. This doctoral program lasted until 2017.
