Shyrel Thomas

Shyrel Thomas, MSN, RN CNOR, is an experienced nursing professional with extensive expertise in operative services and patient care. Currently serving as the Director of Operative Services & SPD at Emory University Hospital since August 2014, Shyrel is responsible for planning, coordinating, and directing daily operations while supervising staff and ensuring effective communication. Previously held positions include Nurse Educator and Operating Room Shift Nurse Manager. Shyrel’s background includes roles as Patient Care Coordinator and Acting Evening Shift Nurse Manager at Saint Barnabas Medical Center, where Shyrel enhanced patient care transitions and supervised nursing staff. Shyrel's nursing career began at Muhlenberg Regional Medical Center, with a focus on providing compassionate care to patients with acute illnesses. Academic qualifications include a Master of Science in Nursing Education from Walden University and current pursuit of a PhD in Nursing Education.
