Cathy Nelson

Cathy Nelson is an experienced Lead Application Developer/Analyst at Emory University, serving in the Emory College of Arts & Sciences since July 2018, where operational oversight of technology and academic processes is a key responsibility. As a Slate Captain, Cathy contributes to application development, training expansion, outcome assessment, and project management, while also facilitating new employee onboarding. Previous roles include Assistant Director of Operations and Senior Program Coordinator in the same college. Additionally, from September 2007 to May 2017, Cathy was the Office Administrator at Embry Hills United Methodist Church Preschool & Kindergarten, managing daily operations and representing the school in the absence of directors. Earlier career experience includes a role as Project Lead/Technical Writer/Software Trainer at Coca-Cola Enterprises, where training classes and technical materials for a proprietary software program were created. Cathy holds a B.A. in Journalism from Georgia State University.
