Gene Murphy

Gene Murphy currently serves as Senior Director of Financial Planning and Analysis at Emory University, overseeing the university-wide budget process for a $1.9 billion financial plan since July 2014. Previously, Gene held various positions at Emory University, including Associate Director for Capital & Operational Planning, where responsibilities included managing $900 million in capital plans and generating five-year pro forma financial statements. Gene also worked as Director of Accounting and Controller, managing financial operations for Emory College, and served as a Senior Financial Consultant, providing financial recommendations for capital projects. Prior experience includes a role as Staff Auditor at EY and positions in accounting at Emory University and Heery International Limited. Gene holds a Master of Accountancy from The University of Alabama and a Bachelor of Science in Accounting and International Business from Birmingham-Southern College.
