Matt Kivel

Matt Kivel currently serves as the Assistant Vice President of Communications in the Office of the President at Emory University, overseeing executive communication and strategy while collaborating with university leaders on various communications needs. Prior to this role, Matt was the Director of Presidential Communications at Emory, managing internal and external communications for the university's President. Matt has extensive experience as a speechwriter, having worked for the Presidents of The University of Texas at Austin and The Aerospace Corporation, where responsibilities included crafting speeches for notable leaders in the aerospace industry. Earlier in their career, Matt contributed as a freelance writer and production editor for Variety, interviewing high-profile figures in the entertainment industry. Matt holds a Bachelor of Arts in Economics from the University of Michigan and has studied at UCL.
