Michael Rich

Political Science Department Chair

Michael Rich serves as the Political Science Department Chair and Professor of Political Science at Emory University since August 1994, where responsibilities include directing the Policy Analysis Laboratory and teaching various courses related to public policy and research. Prior experience includes serving as the founding Executive Director of The Providence Plan, focusing on poverty alleviation in Providence, and holding the position of Assistant Professor of Political Science and Public Policy at Brown University. Michael Rich’s early career includes a Public Affairs Fellowship with the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development and a Research Assistant role at The Brookings Institution. Academic qualifications include a Ph.D. in Political Science and Government from Northwestern University, a Master’s degree in Public Administration from the University of Virginia, and a Bachelor’s degree in Political Science and Government from Westminster College.
