Geoff Mackellar

Geoff Mackellar has had a long and successful career in research and development. Geoff began in 1985 as Chief Scientist at Metalaser Technologies, where they were the chief design and application engineer for Vasculase medical laser product and introduced metal vapour laser technology to the medical market. In 1990, they took on the role of Research and Development Manager at Visiray Pty Ltd, where they were responsible for research and development of medical, scientific and industrial laser systems, and for liaising with technology suppliers, sales, marketing, technical support and field service. In 1994, they moved to Dynamic Light Ltd, where they held the same role. In 1997, they joined Polartechnics Ltd as Research and Development Manager. In 2006, they joined Emotiv Systems Pty Ltd as Research Manager and CTO. In 2010, they were Co-Founder, Research and Development Manager and CTO of Emotiv Inc. Finally, in 2011, they became CEO of Emotiv Research Pty Ltd.

Geoff Mackellar obtained their PhD in Laser Physics from Macquarie University between 1979 and 1985. Prior to that, they obtained a BSc(Hons1) in Physics(Hons), Mathematics, and Computing from the University of New England (AU) between 1975 and 1978.
