Senior Director, Sync Licensing at Empire Distribution

Nikki Marshall has a diverse and extensive work experience in the music industry. Nikki started their career in 1999 as an Associate Production Coordinator at ORGANIZED NOIZE PRODUCTIONS, coordinating recording projects and negotiating licenses for clients. Nikki then worked at Arrow Records as a Project Coordinator/Publishing Administrator, where they negotiated licenses and liaised with producers and artist management. Nikki later joined Dallas Austin Recording Projects as a Senior Manager, Publishing, negotiating and administering licenses for songwriters and composers.

In 2009, Nikki worked as a Music & Media Licensing and Clearances Consultant at VH1, before moving to Fried Green Apps as their Rights & Clearances Manager. At Fried Green Apps, they designed and managed fan engagement activities and secured rights for their applications.

Nikki continued their career at Warner Music Group as a Master Use Licensing specialist, and then at Warner/Chappell Music as a Manager, Sync. In these roles, they focused on licensing and synchronization for various media projects. Finally, they currently work at EMPIRE as a Senior Manager, Sync Licensing, where they are responsible for licensing music for use in film, television, and advertising.

Throughout their career, Nikki has demonstrated strong negotiation skills, licensing expertise, and the ability to manage teams and projects. Nikki has worked with prominent clients, labels, publishers, and distributors both domestically and internationally.

Nikki Marshall obtained a certificate in CopyrightX from Harvard University in 2014. Prior to that, from 1998 to 2002, they attended Hampton University, where they pursued a field of study in Marketing. However, their degree name from Hampton University is unknown.
