Shaylan Richardson

Shaylan Richardson is an experienced educator specializing in entrepreneurial studies and music instruction. Currently serving as an Entrepreneurial Studies Educator at EMPOWER COLLEGE PREP since November 2019, Shaylan provides individualized support to students while overseeing a capstone project that involves creating pop-up businesses. Prior to this role, Shaylan worked at The Leona Group, mentoring grades K-12 students and facilitating personalized learning for over 150 students. Shaylan's background also includes serving as Music Director at Greater Bethel AME Church, where membership significantly increased under leadership, and as a Music Educator at The Paideia Academies, Inc., where Shaylan promoted arts integration and student engagement. Shaylan holds a Bachelor of Science in Human Development and Family Studies from Arizona State University and an Associate of Arts in General Studies from Phoenix College.
