John Grinnell

Sr Verification Engineer at Empower Semiconductor

John Grinnell has over 40 years of work experience. Starting in 1980, they worked as an Electronic Technician at the Paragon Music Center. In 1990, they took on the role of Programmer at Travelers. In 1996, they became a Software Design Engineer at Texas Instruments - Memory Products, where they provided EDA tool support to a global design community. In 1998, they took on the role of Senior Engineer at Cyrix, where they were the primary resource for Cadence dfII tool support and Verilog netlister flow enhancements. In 2000, they became a Principle Member of Technical Staff at Maxim Integrated Products, where they performed functional verification on several touch screen controller projects. At the same time, they also worked as an Adjunct Lecturer - Electrical Engineering at the University of Texas at Dallas. In 2011, they took on the role of Functional Verification Consultant at Maxim Integrated, where they made extensive use of real value modeling using Verilog-AMS, SystemVerilog, assertions, and constrained random testbenches. In 2015, they became a Design Verification Engineer at Qualcomm. In 2018, they took on the role of Verification Engineer, Senior Staff at TDK InvenSense. John currently works as a Sr Verification Engineer at Empower Semiconductor.

John Grinnell received a MSEE in Electrical Engineering from The University of Texas at Dallas and a BSEE from University of South Florida. John also obtained a certification in Computational Neuroscience from Coursera in June 2013.
