Steve Sinha

Steve Sinha is the CEO & Founder of Empowered To Run, where they are responsible for designing, building, and managing the organization, as well as the team, product, service, and marketing & sales. Steve is also a Policy Advisory Committee Member for Biden for President, Pete for America, and Hillary for America.

In their previous roles at the U.S. Department of State, Steve served as the Deputy Coordinator for Knowledge Management and the Senior Advisor for International Cyber Policy. Steve designed and launched a knowledge management project and facilitated government procurement for the development of new tools. Steve also advised on cyber policy and led trainings for the diplomatic corps.

Before their time at the State Department, Steve worked as an Economic Officer and Senior Advisor for East Asia & Pacific Cyber Policy at the U.S. Department of State, where they managed U.S. foreign policy with China and advised on investment policy. Prior to that, they served as a National Defense & Global Security Officer at the U.S. Department of Homeland Security, focusing on chemical, biological, radiological, and nuclear issues.

Steve has also conducted research in artificial intelligence and complex adaptive systems at the International Computer Science Institute. Additionally, they have contributed to political campaigns, serving as an Obama Organizing Fellow and a Marketing & Communications Leader for Northern California during the Obama for America campaigns.

Steve Sinha's education history starts with their Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical & Computer Engineering, which they obtained from Carnegie Mellon University from 1997 to 2001. Steve then went on to pursue their Ph.D. in Computer Science from the University of California, Berkeley, and completed it between 2001 and 2008. During the same period, they also earned a Master of Technology Certificate in the Management of Technology from the Haas School of Business at the University of California, Berkeley.

In addition to their formal education, Steve Sinha has obtained several certifications. In 2023, they obtained certifications in "Leading Transformations: Manage Change" from Macquarie University and "Influence" from Wharton Online. Steve also earned certifications in "Organizational Design" from Macquarie University and "Removing Barriers to Change" from Wharton Online in the same year. In 2021, Steve obtained certifications in "The Leadership Test" and "The Mindset of Scale" from Masters of Scale.
