Kurt serves as the CEO of Empowering People Management. He has over 20 years of experience serving people with intellectual and developmental disabilities. He is a graduate of Tiffin University and began his career as a floor supervisor in a 60 bed ICF/IDD. He then served as the unit coordinator at a 52 bed ICF/IDD before assuming the role of associate residential director at Evant in Akron for 8 years. He then continued his career as the chief operations officer for Provider Services. In 2012 he moved into the role of owner and CEO for Empowering People Management and has continued to work towards growing and improving the services provided by Empowering People. Kurt is fortunate to have a passionate and dedicated administrative team that focuses on quality services for the people serve. Kurt is an active member of OPRA while serving on committees to improve services and options for Ohioans with intellectual and developmental disabilities. EPI is a progressive company, downsizing over 250 licensed beds into smaller, community based homes. This commitment is aligned with the vision of the Ohio Department of Developmental Disabilities.
Kurt is a certified crisis intervention trainer and is active in the daily operations of the locations Empowering People operates. Personally, Kurt enjoys spending time with his wife Jennifer and three children Drew, Jaxson and Joslyn. He also enjoys sports, reading, and spending time with his family and lifelong friends.
