Barbara Mariconda

Barbara Mariconda is the principal, owner, and author at Empowering Writers since 1997, specializing in developing teacher resource materials and conducting training workshops on writing instruction. An accomplished author, Barbara has published over thirty books for children and young adults, receiving multiple prestigious awards, including an Edgar nomination and a Moonbeam Award Gold Medal. Prior to this, Barbara worked as an educator for the Fairfield Board of Education from 1990 to 1998, where Barbara led a writing instructional improvement program that inspired the founding of Empowering Writers. Barbara holds a Master's degree in Communication from Fairfield University and a Bachelor's degree in Music Education from the University of Bridgeport.
