Raisa Alam

Raisa Alam is a dedicated College Admissions Counselor Consultant at Empowerly, providing guidance to over 120 students in the college application process, leading to acceptance at prestigious institutions such as Stanford and Columbia. With extensive experience as an Intern-Scholar at the Research Cluster on Science and Subjectivity, Raisa plays a crucial role in promoting diversity in the biology field through the Black Undergraduate Mentorship Program. Previous positions include Clinical Research Assistant at the Icahn School of Medicine, Teaching Assistant at Columbia University, and Advising Fellow at Matriculate, where Raisa mentored first-generation students. A strong foundation in research was established through roles at New York-Presbyterian Hospital and various academic institutions, including independent research on Alzheimer’s disease at Jin Ryoun Kim Biochemistry Lab. Raisa holds a Master of Science in Clinical Research from Icahn School of Medicine and a Bachelor of Arts in Neuroscience and Behavior from Columbia University.
