Katie Averill

Katie Averill, PgMP, has a diverse work experience in various roles and industries. Katie began their career as a Science Department Chair/Teacher at Harmony Science Academy NW in 2008 and later moved on to become an Assistant Principal and Academic and Testing Coordinator at Harmony School of Fine Arts and Technology. At Harmony Public Schools, they served as a Curriculum Designer & Instructional Coach, where they developed and provided professional development to teachers, trained them on instructional design and technology implementation, and collaborated with school and district-level employees on organizational goals.

Katie then worked at National Oilwell Varco as an Instructional Designer, where they conducted needs analyses, collaborated with subject matter experts (SMEs), and determined learning objectives for effective training programs. In 2016, they joined Empyrean Benefit Solutions, Inc. as an Instructional Designer, responsible for conducting needs analyses, collaborating with SMEs, and determining content delivery platform best suited to meet learning objectives. Katie later progressed to the position of Ops PMO Manager and then Director of Ops Governance & Continuous Improvement at the same company.

Katie Averill, PgMP, has a Bachelor's degree in Biology/Biological Sciences, General from the University of New Orleans, obtained between 2000 and 2008. Katie also holds a Master of Business Administration (MBA) from the University of Texas at Tyler, earned from 2014 to 2018. In 2017 to 2019, they pursued their education in Human Resources Education, specializing in Workforce Development, at Louisiana State University. Additionally, Katie has obtained the Program Management Professional (PgMP) certification from the Project Management Institute in November 2022.
