Riaan van Wyk

Riaan van Wyk has a diverse work experience spanning several decades. Riaan began their career as an Engineer at saaf in 1992 and then moved on to Altech ISIS in 1997 where they worked as a Systems Engineer, specializing in designing communication backbones for radar control systems. In 1999, they joined Mediaverge as an Engineering Manager. In 2002, they transitioned to Detnet as an Engineering Manager, and later served as the Chief Operations Manager at DetNet South Africa (Pty) Ltd from 2007 to 2008. Riaan then took on the role of Chief Technical Officer at DetNet South Africa (Pty) Ltd from 2008 to 2019. In 2019, Riaan became self-employed as a Co-Owner before assuming the position of Corporate R&D Director at Enaex in 2023. Riaan also briefly held the role of Director of New Products Development and Innovation at Enaex. Throughout their career, Riaan has demonstrated expertise in electronic engineering design, software and firmware development, and mechanical design, particularly in the mining industry. Riaan has also been involved in implementing production systems and tracking product manufacturing.

Riaan van Wyk completed a Bachelor of Engineering (B.Eng.) degree in Electronics at Stellenbosch University from 1986 to 1990. In 2001 to 2002, they pursued a B.Eng (Hons) degree in Computer Engineering with a focus on cryptography and computer networks at the University of Pretoria. Riaan also underwent training at Cranfield Aviation and obtained certification as a KNX Partner for the KNX Building Management system in 2011.
