CFO at Encentiv Energy

Laurie Hochberg has had a long and varied career in finance, beginning in 1986 as an Audit Staff Accountant at Grant Thornton LLP. Laurie then moved to J.J. Gumberg Company as an Assistant Controller in 1988, followed by a position as Controller and then Assistant Controller at Suprex Corporation from 1989 to 1994. During this time, they successfully implemented Great Plains accounting package, changing from Solomon accounting package. In 2005, they became Controller at Multimodal Technologies Inc., where they created all financial systems from the "ground up" and developed an initial billing system based upon per minute of audio processed. In 2009, they were promoted to CFO, where they worked closely with the founders of the closely held private company regarding all growth and or exit strategy scenarios. This resulted in the sale of the company in 2011 for $130 million. Laurie then became Transitional CFO M*Modal Tech division at M*Modal Inc. from 2011 to 2014, where they were directly responsible for integration of (legacy) M*Modal Tech into the parent company. In 2014, they moved to Rhiza as a Director of Finance, tasked with building on previous experiences to help Rhiza obtain rapid growth as a SaaS company. Finally, they are currently CFO of Encentiv Energy, where they are building infrastructure for growth for a newly funded SaaS company, creating financial reporting and strategic planning models, and developing key metrics to monitor and provide meaningful information. Laurie is also evaluating M&A opportunities and managing HR, facilities, and helping to create an exciting, challenging, and fulfilling company culture.

Laurie Hochberg obtained a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) in Accounting from PennWest Clarion between 1982 and 1986.
