Tyler Hong

Tyler Hong has a diverse work experience starting in 2014 as an Install and Repair Technician at AFL, where they gained proficiency in Copper and Fiber-optic-based technologies. Tyler then moved on to SSI (ShipConstructor & EnterprisePlatform) in 2019, working as a Network and Systems Assistant, with responsibilities including various IT aspects and implementing SaaS. Later in the same year, they joined RJC Engineers as a Network and Support Specialist. In 2021, Tyler joined Encepta as an Outside Plant Engineering Project Designer I, where they carried out design jobs as assigned by the Project Lead or Manager. Tyler continued to progress within Encepta, taking on roles as an OPE Project Designer I and eventually a Project Designer II.

Tyler Hong completed a Diploma in Electronics and Computer Engineering with a focus on Renewable Energy at Camosun College from 2020 to 2022. Prior to that, they obtained a Certificate in the Computer Network and Electronics Technician Program from the same institution between 2018 and 2019. In terms of additional certifications, Tyler earned their Cisco Certified Entry Networking Technician (CCENT) qualification from Cisco in April 2019. Tyler also obtained the CompTIA A+ certification in December 2018 and a Smith Driving System certification from Smith System Driver Improvement Institute, Inc. in October 2017.
