James Zhang

Florida Chapter Founder And Co-lead at Encode Justice

James Zhang has a diverse work experience. James currently holds the position of Leon County Schools Student School Board Member at Leon County Schools. In 2022, they worked at Robotics For All as the Head of Grants and Fundraising, Curriculum Partnerships Manager, and Lead Instructor. James also founded and co-led the Florida Chapter of Encode Justice. Previously, they served as the Director for the Startup Summer Camp/Stedu Lab Department at STEDU Association. In terms of research roles, James worked as a NASA Intern at the UT Austin Center for Space Research in 2023 and as a Research Assistant at both Florida State University and Florida State University College of Medicine from 2021 to 2023. Additionally, they participated as a Florida Boys State Delegate in 2023.

James Zhang attended Lawton Chiles High School from 2020 to 2024, where they obtained their High School Diploma. From 2022 to 2024, they also enrolled in a High School Dual Enrollment program at both Florida State University and Tallahassee Community College. In 2022, James took part in the Yale Young Global Scholars program and the MIT Beaver Works Summer Institute Spring Program.
