Andy Hasluem has extensive experience in the broadcast media industry, spanning over four decades. Andy began their career at BBC TV in 1980 as a trainee engineer and progressed to the role of Senior Engineer, specializing in VTR/TK operations. During their time at BBC TV, they received double merit awards for their work as a colorist. In 1987, Andy joined Channel 4 TV as a Senior Engineer and was later promoted to Broadcast Engineering Supervisor. In this role, they oversaw a team of engineers and was responsible for the maintenance and operation of a fully automated digital TV station and post-production subsidiary. Andy joined Turner Broadcasting System, Inc. in 2008 as a Broadcast Engineer III, where they managed air playout of multiple networks and served as the technical "go-to" person. Andy continued to advance within Turner, eventually becoming a Senior Systems Engineer and leading the architecting and building of the WarnerMedia Turner/CNN/HBO 2110 IP Broadcast evolution. In 2016, Andy started working as a Freelance Video Professional, taking on project management and lead engineering roles. Currently, they are the Director of Engineering at Encompass Digital Media, Inc., responsible for design, approvals, build, and testing of E2E 2110 2022-7 project in partnership with Sinclair Broadcasting for Bally Sports RSN Master Control, Transmission Center, and Uplink in Atlanta.
Andy Hasluem attended BBC Engineering College where they pursued a degree in Broadcast Engineering with a focus on Television & Electronics. Andy completed their education in 1983. Additionally, they obtained a certification as a BBC Certified Broadcast TV Engineer from BBC College UK.
